In January, Petrobras average production of oil and natural gas stood at 2.65 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). Of this total, 2.47 million barrels were produced in Brazil, and 183,000 boed abroad. The country's average oil production reached 2 million barrels per day (bpd) and 92,000 bpd abroad.

Brazil's output last month dropped 7.1% compared with the volume produced in the previous month (2.66 million boed). According to the company, the result was caused by the impact of scheduled maintenance stoppages in some platforms with high production.

Production abroad

Oil production in overseas fields has also dropped. The volume was 4.2% below the previous month, and totaled 92,000 bpd. According to the company, the reduction was due especially to the maintenance shutdown of the production of Agbami field in Nigeria. The lower output in Medanito camp in Argentina, due to climate issues, has also contributed to the lower production.

Natural gas production was 15.5 million m³/d, 4.3% below the volume produced in December. In this case, the company reported that the reduction was caused by the stop to adjust the platform's gas plant in the field of Hadrian South, USA.

Pre-salt

In the pre-salt area, the daily average output totaled 1.029 million boed, and oil production operated by Petrobras in this area reached 822,000 bpd. The country's production of natural gas, excluding the liquefied volume, was 74.1 million m³/d.
